Severstal-metiz increases the production of reinforcing strands
The Severstal-metiz company, part of Severstal, is putting into commercial operation a new section for the production of stabilized reinforcing strands. The volume of investments amounted to about 400 million roubles.
The project aims to increase production volumes of strands. Launching the line in commercial operation will increase the output of this product by 1,800 tonnes per month. Thus, the total production capacity of the company for this product will be 5,000 tonnes per month.
“Stabilised reinforcing strands are one of the company's key products. They are used in the construction industry to reinforce stressed reinforced concrete structures, including a complex and unique site. For example, with the use of Severstal-metiz strands in the Murmansk region, the Centre for the Construction of Large-Capacity Offshore Structures is being erected,” Sergey Kovryakov, Severstal-metiz general director, said.
