Flotent Chemicals, an international developer and manufacturer of chemical reagents for mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, and industrial wastewater treatment, announces the launch of its hydroxamate product line.
This class of chemical compounds is designed to extract a wide range of metals, including copper, tin, and rare earth elements (REEs). The key property of hydroxamates is chelation — the ability to form strong complexes with multivalent metal cations. These bonds are significantly harder to break than single bonds formed by traditional collectors.
Hydroxamates deliver high selectivity and recovery rates where standard reagents prove ineffective. Implementing them represents a strategic investment in boosting processing plant profitability. Beyond technological advantages, hydroxamates are more biodegradable and free from the toxic components typical of most flotation reagents. The new product line from Flotent Chemicals is fully compatible with major types of frothers and pH regulators, requiring only standard safety protocols during application.
Utilizing this class of chemical compounds addresses a critical challenge for major mining enterprises: processing substantial volumes of oxidized ore accumulated at deposit sites. In several applications involving mixed ores, implementing hydroxamates has increased recovery rates by 15–20% compared to conventional reagents.
The development and testing of this reagent line spanned several years, with its performance validated through industrial-scale operations at major sector enterprises across the Russian Federation and Central Asia.
"The hydroxamate product line comprises 20 grades tailored to standard plant configurations and ore compositions, including the beneficiation of iron-containing raw materials. Our team not only selects the optimal grade for specific operational needs but also provides full technological support during integration — from staff training to process optimization," notes Alexey Marfitsin, CEO of Flotent Chemicals.
