Tau-Ken Altyn Refinery - 10 Years of Impeccable Work
The solemn event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the plant has taken place on July 13 with the participation of Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chief Executive Officer of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Bakyt Chirchikbayev, the Chief Executive Officer of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk, and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2013, the Tau-Ken Altyn plant refined its first gold bar of the “9999” highest grade. Over the next 10 years, the company delivered more than 261 tons of gold to the National Bank. Tau-Ken Altyn reached its design capacity in November 2019, and since the same year, production has consistently exceeded design indicators - 55.6 tons of gold were refined last year.
Bakyt Chirchikbayev, Chief Executive Officer of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk:
“Of course, the global political situation, sanctions pressure and disruption of supply chains have a certain impact today, however we are actively working to reduce all risks. The Tau-Ken Altyn refinery consistently demonstrtes high production indicators.”
The refining technology used at Tau-Ken Altyn has no analogues in the CIS and is one of the best in the world. The management system fully complies with international standards. On the eve of its 10th anniversary, the plant received the following certificates: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Aspects) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety).
Askar Tleulin, Director of Tau-Ken Altyn LLP:
“In the near future we are planning to launch a new workshop where we will extract precious metals from refining production waste, in the future it is possible to render services to other refineries”.
80 people work at the plant, all production workers, including smelters, pot operators, equipment operators, have specialized higher education, undergo regular training and constantly improve their qualifications. In honor of the 10th anniversary, 5 plant workers have been awarded the Yenbek Danky Order (Labor Glory) of the II and III degrees, 9 more plant workers have got departmental and corporate incentives.
